Enhancing Student Learning through Technology Integration
Abstract
The technological developments that have taken place over the recent years have brought a lot of changes across the different sectors of society including education. The technological advancement that is tantamount in the modern world presents new ways through which the teaching learning processes in class can be enhanced in order to facilitate improved learning outcomes among students. Learning technologies that refer to technologies incorporated in teaching, facilitating knowledge acquisition has become an important aspect of learning in the 21 st century. It provides a number of avenues through which teachers can create more student-centered and media-rich learning environments for their learners according to Lai (2019). As the tools of e-learning, online assessments, and other resources are in trend, blended learning environments encompassing traditional and new technologies have shifted significantly over the past few years (Johnson et al. , 2020). Initiation of educational technology is now being viewed with a new perspective as district level initiatives are now considered as paramount important for modernizing teaching learning in the society. In particular, such initiatives can help learners meet multiple needs of diverse students by offering the access to the means of learning that can facilitate differentiation and instructional individualization (Picciano, 2018). For the teachers themselves, integrating technology into the classroom could enhance productivity as it eliminates bureaucratic work, develops impressive lessons and provides teachers with an array of professional development. Such changes indicate why school districts have to develop more effective strategies for implementing technology in order to enhance the learning process and to teach the youth how to operate effectively in the digital environment (Selwyn, 2016).
